Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces is today recognised as one of Asia's largest and finest group of hotels. The company opened its first hotel, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai in 1903. The Taj Samudra is strategically located in Colombo’s business hub and is just a short stroll to the city centre for shopping and entertainment. The hotel also boasts a peerless view of the Indian Ocean and the Galle Face Green, a hallmark of Colombo.

Taj Samudra is 37 km or approximately 1 hours drive from the International airport.

In keeping with the Taj Samudra's endeavour to offer an ever evolving service inline with increasing client expectations the Hotel has completely revamped many areas including the new Superior Rooms with all modern amenities as well as the new super luxurious Executive Rooms which are designed exclusively for the corporate business traveler. All rooms offer a Mini bar, air-conditioning, electronic safe, tea coffee maker, a choice of Satellite channels and hair dryer.
